Avery Samet

Avery Samet is an Associate at the firm who specializes in bankruptcy litigation. Mr. Samet graduated from Columbia University in 2000, and graduated with Honors from Harvard Law School in 2003, where he served on the Human Rights Law Journal and the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Journal. Mr. Samet has served as an intern for Federal Judge Naomi R. Buchwald, United States District Court, Southern District of New York, and also as a legal intern for the Office of the Bar Counsel in Boston, Massachusetts. He also held the position of Student Attorney in the Harvard Immigration & Asylum Clinic at the Greater Boston Legal Services.

While at Storch Amini & Munves, Mr. Samet’s practice has focused heavily on the firm’s involvement as special litigation counsel to trustees in numerous bankruptcies, including Kleinert’s, Inc., Ames Department Stores, and e.spire Communications, Inc. Mr. Samet also has extensive experience in matters involving accounting fraud and securities.

Mr. Samet is admitted to practice in New York State, and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
